Hello to all the interested parties for the Comanche Maintenance Seminar and other fun in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Owner Gary Crow of Wells Aircraft is graciously hosting us in a hangar for the Bob Weber Maintenance Seminar and with his normal excellent service, we and our airplanes will be well taken care of. I look forward to seeing you there - spread the word to your friends, it is going to be a great April Fool's weekend. If your computer won't read the document, let me know and I can fax it to you.
Our group has really grown. As of today, we have 41 folks and 23 airplanes from at least 7 different sattes, who are planning on coming or have expressed interest. We are planning to have two twelve passenger vans for chauffeuring all of us around. If someone wants to rent their own transportation because their schedule may be different, I suggest calling Wade at Enterprise 620-665-6200 and tell him you are with me and ICS and he should give you a good rate. He is thrilled to be renting the vans and gave us quite a discount. Remember taxis to the hotel are about $10 so that is an option too. Here is a list of all the attendees we know about at this time and a reprise of the itinerary. I have provided the information I have on hand, my Pathfinder is currently MIA during our house renovation so if anyone would like to add to their information, I'll send another update next week.

We've arranged an extra hour in this weekend so you can have time for all the fun as Daylight Savings time begins. This will be my fifth visit to Hutchinson. I live near Fort Worth and I keep coming back for more. This is a joint fly-in and all ICS members are welcome.
• Friday, March 31
o 3:00-5:00 PM registration at Airport Conference Room. Receive your Chamber of Commerce goodie bags and Wells Aircraft hot fresh cookies. Sign-up for “Show and Tell” slots. There will be a nominal registration fee used to cover the cost of the transportation. Best estimate is $15-20 per person. Saturday Box Lunch during Maintenance Seminar will be an additional charge. Sign-up for Other Saturday Activities shown below.
o 5:00-6:00 PM 10 minute slots for each attendee to stand in front of their plane and do a little “Show and Tell” as a way for everyone to get acquainted. More time can be added if needed.
o 6:00 PM Dinner at the excellent Airport Steakhouse. Business is so good that the restaurant has been expanded since I was last there. The food is great and the view of the ramp is wonderful. How cool will it be to have a lovely meal in sight of your plane!
• Saturday, April 1 Maintenance Seminar
o 9:00 – 10:00 AM Late Registration at the Maintenance Seminar location
o 10:00 AM - Maintenance Seminar Start. Bob Weber speaking. I heard Bob speak at the Manassas convention and want to hear him again. There’s always something to learn.
o Robert Victor from Topeka, KS has volunteered his 1965 PA-30 to be on jacks. A bonus will be that we can see his newly finished panel overlay.
o 11:30 AM – Box Lunch
o Noon – 1:30 Bob Weber available for questions.
o As an aside, it was fascinating to have my plane in his shop. The stabilator AD was signed off but guess what? It was done for one of four attachment points and two more were loose. That wasn’t why the plane was in the shop but they checked it anyway and I’m so glad they did.
• Saturday, April 1 Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Museum
o Open 9 AM to 9 PM
o 1:30 – 2:00 PM Transportation from the Maintenance Seminar to the Museum
o 2:00 – 5:00 Maintenance Seminar attendees may enjoy the museum at their leisure
o 5:00 Transportation from the Museum to Dinner/Hotel
o Notes: See www.cosmo.org for a discount coupon for each of the three venues of the Museum with the Apollo 13 Command Module, SR-71 and so much more, the IMAX theater with “Mystery of the Nile” and “Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon” showing on alternating hours beginning at 1 PM, the Justice Planetarium Theater and Dr Goddard’s Lab. I keep coming back because there is so much to see. This is a Smithsonsian-quality museum with a rare and wonderful ‘let me tell you the story’ approach to displaying artifacts. It is fascinating to all age levels. There is a full service café and extensive gift shop.
• Saturday, April 1 Other Activities – one van will be available to shuttle to these locations
o Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Museum shown above
o 20,000 sq ft indoor space-themed water park adjoining the hotel
o 150 downtown antique shops near the historic Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad
o Nearby Amish community stores located about 20 minutes southeast of town have baked goods and handcrafted products.
o Contemporary Shopping mall across from the hotel.

• There is commercial air service to Wichita, Kansas if your own plane is not available. It is about a one-hour drive from Wichita to Hutchinson.
